Sciatica - Radiating Leg Pain Treatment
What is sciatica pain?
Sciatica is a common variety of pain originating in and radiating out from the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve extends from the lower back down to the back of the leg. Sciatica is initiated by pressure on the nerve roots in both the lower lumbar and the lumbosacral spine. Surprisingly, sciatica pain usually affects one side of the (lower) body, sometimes all the way to the toes.
Why do I have sciatica?
Sciatica is the result of irritation of the lumbosacral spine and lower lumbar, and can also be caused by lumbar spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, degenerative disc disease, pregnancy, and muscle spasms (in the back or butt). Lack of exercise and poor sleeping conditions may also contribute.
